How conversation context works
Menaela does not treat each message as an isolated prompt. It reloads the context needed to continue the workflow while keeping clinic facts and safety boundaries authoritative.
In this pageWhat can contribute to context · Old conversations can continue naturally · Remembered context is not authority
What can contribute to context
- The latest patient or staff request.
- Recent messages in the current conversation.
- Persisted structured conversation context.
- Relevant recent history from other patient dialogs when identity is sufficiently established.
- Configured clinic, provider, service, payer and price data.
- Active clinic instructions for the relevant workflow.
Old conversations can continue naturally
A new incoming message in an existing chat can trigger the same autonomous workflow as a new chat. The system loads saved context instead of assuming the conversation starts again from the first greeting. Imported history can support context, but importing old messages by itself does not trigger autonomous replies.
Remembered context is not authority
Safety rulePrevious conversation can explain the request. It cannot override current facts.
If an old message says a price, availability or payer rule that conflicts with the current configured clinic data, the current authoritative data should win.
