Providers

Provider data connects people to services and availability. Keep it operational: what the provider does, where they work and how they can be booked.

What belongs in a provider record

  • Provider name and active status.
  • Specialty or role when that information is relevant to patient questions.
  • Services the provider actually performs.
  • Working schedule or other availability source.
  • Languages or operational notes that the clinic wants Menaela to use.
  • Booking constraints that cannot be represented more cleanly at the service or schedule level.

How provider data affects booking

When a patient requests a specific doctor, Menaela needs to preserve that preference while searching availability. If no suitable slot exists, it may offer another provider only when the clinic workflow allows it and the alternative actually provides the requested service.

A provider name alone is not enough. The scheduling flow has to connect provider, service, time constraints and real availability.

Check providers in the schedule

Provider filters make it easy to verify that the configured providers and their appointments appear where staff expect them.

Avoid putting medical judgement into the profile

Configured specialty or service information can support administrative answers such as who provides a service. It should not be stretched into autonomous clinical suitability advice unless that use is explicitly supported by the product and clinic workflow.
