Pricing
If a price is known and structured, Menaela can use it. If the final price depends on payer, provider, treatment complexity or another missing fact, the conversation should reflect that uncertainty.

Keep one reliable price source
Prices that patients can be quoted should live in structured clinic configuration whenever possible. Do not maintain a different price in the website, staff instructions and a free-text note and expect the assistant to resolve conflicts reliably.
When Menaela can answer directly
- A standard service price is clearly configured.
- The provider-specific price is known when provider matters.
- The payer or payment context needed for the answer is present.
- The clinic has not marked the question as requiring staff confirmation.
When not to give a confident number
- The amount depends on insurance coverage that has not been verified.
- The website contains an old or promotional number that has not been reviewed.
- The service has a range rather than a fixed price and the relevant condition is unknown.
- The price depends on clinical judgement or treatment scope.
Patient-facing rule“I do not have enough information to quote that yet” is better than a plausible wrong price.
The assistant should distinguish between having clinic knowledge and having authority to determine a final price in the current case.
